I love to read. I’m addicted to it. So much so that I have at least a half-dozen books that I re-read so often that I have to hunt for all the pages before I can read them again. I prefer mysteries, and I love it when I find an author who includes insights into human behaviors, giving me new perspectives. This morning I was reading just such a book, by a new author (to me) and the main character pipes up with the following:
“…our fates are rooted in our past actions, our
dispositions, our habits. Our futures are decided
because of who we are and what we do, how we
live and who we know, more than by simple
happenstance…. Our fates…lie not in chance,
but in ourselves.”
Nice. It’s like turning a corner on a drizzly day and finding a rainbow.
Many others have said it…in many various ways…
We become that which we think about. Don Coyhis
Like attracts like.
The power of attraction.
“As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again.
To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.” Henry David Thoreau
The only thing in this world we can change is our attitude. We can choose the path that leads to happiness. We can learn to create our own reality. Every morning we can wake with the vision of a good day. …that’s me…in Stride Like a Lion J
Living Joyously Tip for the Day:
Whatever it is that you want in your life, write it on a card or note paper and post it in several places where you’ll see it often…your bedroom mirror, your bathroom mirror, the dashboard of your car, etc.. You become that which you think about…think joy!
