Make some Wassail!!!! The all natural bug buster and WONDERFUL TREAT!!! Two of my nurse practitioner students students now have COVID and I suggested my recipe for wassail … the first day, one of them took it three times and felt no symptoms afterwards… she called it the bug buster. It is amazing as a preventative and I am taking it daily myself now. Served warm… Cider if you have it. Apple juice, your favorite tea or even just warm water if you don’t have any of those. Basically it’s the spices of pumpkin pie spice… Cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, Ginger, allspice, and honey …take as many times a day as you can and your blood sugar will tolerate. You might have to be careful with the Ginger…. it gives me heartburn if I have too much…. it is anti-viral, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and immune-boosting.
I have finished my cider and my daughter picked up some frozen apple juice for me…I found that it doesn’t freeze solid…more like gelato…so I put it in a tupperware container, leaving it in the freezer and just scoop out what I need to make my next batch.
my recipe is very scientific: 4-8 oz cider; turn spice containers sideways and tap them 4-6 times, (ginger less), cinnamon…maybe a full or heaping tsp (whatever you can tolerate); honey…turn it upside down and squeeze & circle cup a couple of times (maybe a Tbsp)…my grandmother’s recipe would have said a mouthful of honey…and for this recipe, I claim a big mouth!!!
